A relationship manager at a Gulf bank often looks after a whole family: the parents’ deposits, a daughter’s credit card, the family company’s trade finance and a portfolio with the investment arm, each in a different system. When the family calls, the person who answers sees one account, last month’s complaint sits in an email folder, and the new company’s onboarding lives in a spreadsheet compliance has never seen. Insurers and investment firms have the same gaps.
Financial Services Cloud is Salesforce’s CRM for banks, insurers and wealth firms, one of the Salesforce industry clouds we implement, and its upgrade, Agentforce for Financial Services, adds agents for banking, wealth and insurance. The data models exist. The design work is in the handoffs: between systems, between agents and people, and between teams that must not see each other’s clients. Our financial services outlook has the wider picture.
Households, relationships and the adviser’s workspace
Financial Services Cloud models a household as a business account linked to a party relationship group of type Household, with each member joined by a relationship record and a role such as Decision Maker. A person can belong to several groups, such as a family and a board, and has one primary group. The ARC Relationship Graph shows how people, households and accounts connect, and rollups total investments, liabilities and deposits at household or client level.
Gulf families stretch the model: a household may include the family business and a family office, and names arrive in Arabic and several Latin spellings. Decide which groups you model and who owns each, and hold names in both scripts so search and screening find the same person.
Sharing matters as much as the view. Compliant Data Sharing grants access record by record through participant roles and groups, so investment banking and markets teams can be walled off, and compliance can audit who sees a record and why. It can also restrict meeting notes held as interaction summaries, and Salesforce advises switching off role-hierarchy sharing on those objects.
The adviser’s workspace brings the graph, rollups, open cases, onboarding tasks and the next review onto one page, and Salesforce says its wealth agents prepare a client summary before a meeting, capture notes and follow-ups during it, and write up next steps afterwards.
Onboarding and KYC, handoff by handoff
Onboarding is where most handoffs happen. In Salesforce’s onboarding model, individuals are person accounts whose Party Profile holds identity verification, risk assessment, screening, credit, employment and income, and business clients get Know Your Business records and a model for beneficial owners and controlling parties. The stages divide like this:
| Stage | In Financial Services Cloud | Hands off to | A person decides |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Intake | Discovery Framework intake forms, prefilled from integrated sources. Agent templates such as Loan Product Assistance answer routine questions. | A banker, for anything outside approved content | Nothing yet |
| 2. Documents | Document Matrix sets the documents required, and Intelligent Form Reader extracts data into the Party Profile | Operations, who compare document and data side by side in Validate Document | Operations accept or reject each document |
| 3. Verification and screening | Integration Definitions manage the callouts to outside verification services | The bank’s identity, screening and credit services | Compliance clears every potential match |
| 4. Risk rating | Business Rules Engine sets eligibility and a preliminary risk rating | Compliance, for high ratings and enhanced due diligence | Compliance approves high-risk clients and exceptions |
| 5. Approval and account opening | Action Plans track the manual tasks, so each person follows the same steps | MuleSoft, to the core banking system that opens the account | The approver your policy names |
| 6. Periodic review | A review task timed by risk rating | The customer, for updated documents | Compliance, for any change in risk |
Two rules keep this sound in an audit. The screening, identity and core systems keep the record of their own decisions, with Salesforce storing the result, the date and the approver. And every manual step has an owner. Test Intelligent Form Reader on Arabic identity cards and commercial registrations before relying on it.
Service cases and complaints
Requests and complaints both arrive as Service Cloud cases, but a complaint also needs a category by product and cause, a deadline from the day it arrives, an owner and a written final response. Financial Services Cloud has a complaint management data model with Public Complaint and Case Participant records alongside the case, and Salesforce lists transaction dispute management among its financial services features.
The CBUAE’s Consumer Protection Regulation (Circular No. 8/2020) requires policies for complaint handling and resolution, and information in Arabic and English, in plain language. SAMA’s rulebook makes complaints handling Principle 7 of its consumer protection principles, in a version dated 23 August 2022: a clear, effective way to complain and fair resolution without delay. Put your regulator’s current time limits on every complaint case, and keep acknowledgement and final-response templates in both languages.
Agentforce, with a line for regulated conversations
Salesforce says Agentforce for Financial Services handles routine banking requests such as card replacements, fund transfers and address updates, routes complex cases to a person with the context attached, and gives insurance staff a policyholder summary. Its April 2026 post counts more than 200 prebuilt templates, topics and actions, including autonomous fee reversals.
Regulated conversations need a written line. The CBUAE regulation calls for an assessment of affordability and suitability, and staff with the professional qualifications to give advice. Our line for a first agent:
- The agent may answer from approved content, report the status of an application, complaint or claim to a verified customer, book appointments, collect documents and handle low-risk requests within policy limits.
- A person decides advice and suitability, credit, KYC exceptions, complaint outcomes, fee waivers above the limit, hardship and suspected fraud, and takes over whenever the customer asks.
Salesforce’s language documentation lists Arabic as Beta for Agentforce agents and warns that beta languages may retrieve information inconsistently. Review Arabic answers before launch, test Gulf dialects and mixed Arabic and English, and keep a fast route to an Arabic-speaking banker.
Core banking through MuleSoft
The core banking system stays the record for balances, transactions and limits, as policy administration does for an insurer. Financial Services Cloud needs current account summaries and a controlled way to request changes, and MuleSoft carries both. The MuleSoft Accelerator for Financial Services packages the patterns: a core banking foundation for any core, with assets for Jack Henry SilverLake and Thought Machine Vault Core; onboarding for banking and wealth management; address change orchestration for banks and insurers; payments; agency management data for insurance brokers; and BIAN-compliant API specifications.
Then decide what syncs and what is fetched live. Holdings and account summaries can sync on events. Balances and recent transactions are better fetched when a banker opens the record. Changes such as an address update go through an API that confirms the core accepted them. Agents call the same APIs, under the same limits and logs. See how we approach integrations.

Where to start
- Map one product end to end: every form, document, check, approval and system it touches, in Arabic and English, with an owner for each handoff.
- Agree the household and sharing model with compliance before anyone designs a screen.
- List the integrations, from core banking and cards to screening and payments, and decide what syncs and what is fetched live.
- Load complaint categories and deadlines into the case design before go-live.
- Choose one agent with a written line, such as status questions, and a rule for when a person takes over. See how we deliver Agentforce in Arabic and English.
Frequently asked questions
What does Financial Services Cloud add for a bank or insurer?
Households and relationship groups with rollups, KYC and onboarding records, complaint management and Compliant Data Sharing. Agentforce for Financial Services adds prebuilt agents for banking, wealth and insurance.
Can an Agentforce agent give financial advice?
We advise against it. The CBUAE regulation ties advice to qualified staff and requires a suitability assessment, so agents should inform and prepare, and hand advice to a person.
Does Agentforce work in Arabic?
Salesforce lists Arabic as Beta for Agentforce agents, so review Arabic answers and keep a fast handover to an Arabic-speaking banker.
How does Financial Services Cloud connect to core banking?
Usually through MuleSoft. Its accelerator for financial services includes a core banking foundation for any core and BIAN-compliant API specifications, and the core stays the system of record.
How should complaints run in Salesforce?
As cases with a complaint record, a category, the regulator’s deadline, a named owner, and responses in Arabic and English.
